What we collect
Information you give us
If you complete the enquiry form on our contact page, we collect your name, your email address and the content of your message. If you contact us by email or telephone instead, we hold whatever information you choose to share in that correspondence.
We do not ask for sensitive personal information through this website, and we would ask you not to send any.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our web server keeps standard technical logs. These may include your IP address, the browser and device you are using, the pages you view and the date and time of your visit. These logs are generated by our hosting provider and are used to keep the site secure, diagnose faults and understand broad patterns of use. We do not use them to identify individual visitors.
Our enquiry form uses a hidden anti-spam check to block automated submissions. It does not collect any additional information about you.
Why we use your information, and our legal basis
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss a potential project. Where you are contacting us about work, our legal basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract. In other cases, our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch with us.
- To keep this website secure and working properly. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the site and the people who use it.
- To meet legal, accounting or regulatory obligations where those apply to us.
We do not send marketing emails, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell, rent or trade your information. There is no automated decision-making that produces legal effects for you.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracking script on the site.
A small number of strictly necessary cookies may be set by our hosting platform for caching and security, and by WordPress if you log in to administer the site. These are essential to the operation of the website and are not used to track you across other websites.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so will not prevent you from using this website.
Who your information is shared with
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes. We do rely on a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf and on our instructions:
- Our website hosting provider, which stores this website and the enquiries submitted through it.
- Our email provider, which we use to receive and reply to your enquiry.
We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law.
Where your information is stored
Enquiries submitted through this website are stored on our hosting provider’s servers and in our email account. Where information is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards our providers have in place for such transfers, such as European Commission adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was provided:
- Enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within 24 months of our last contact with you.
- Records relating to projects we carry out are kept for the duration of the project and then for as long as we are required to retain business and tax records, currently seven years.
- Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider and then overwritten.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information where there is no good reason for us to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information while a concern is resolved;
- object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests;
